Sophia Bush Biography

Sophia Anna Bush (born July 8, 1982) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Brooke Davis in the CW series One Tree Hill and for portraying Grace Andrews in the horror remake The Hitcher.

Bush, an only child, was born and raised in Pasadena, California to Charles William Bush, who is one of the top advertising and celebrity photographers working in the United States today, and Maureen, a photography studio manager. Bush was an athletic young girl on her varsity volleyball team, and did not consider acting until after graduation. She attended Westridge School for Girls (Pasadena) and the University of Southern California and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, where she served as Social Chair. Bush attended USC for three years before getting the role of Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill (2003). In 2000, she was the Tournament of Roses Parade Queen. Sophia is of French-Canadian and Italian ancestry.

Bush made her first big screen appearance in the comedy Van Wilder as Sally (the freshman who seduces Van and doesn't know who Air Supply is). Since then, she has made appearances in several television shows including Nip/Tuck, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and Punk'd. She was cast as Kate Brewster in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, but was replaced by Claire Danes, as the director thought she was too young. In 2003, she won the role of Brooke Davis in the television series One Tree Hill. The show is one of The CW network's biggest hits and is exported all around the world. It was here she met future husband Chad Michael Murray, whom she would marry and then divorce a few months later.

In between working on One Tree Hill, Bush has been cast in many films, such as Supercross, Stay Alive, John Tucker Must Die, and a remake of The Hitcher.

Bush recently received a "Rising Star" award at Vail Film Festival for her work in The Hitcher. She also won 3 Teen Choice Awards for her work in John Tucker Must Die and The Hitcher.

On April 20, 2007, it was confirmed that Bush will star in Francois Velle's "The Narrows" with Kevin Zegers, Eddie Cahill and Vincent D'Onofrio. It is reported that she will play the beautiful, intelligent and self-assured 'Kathy Popovich'. Filming began in New York on April 24, 2007 and is due for a 2008 release date.

Rose McGowan Biography

Rose Arianna McGowan (born September 5, 1973) is an American actress known for her role as Paige Matthews in The WB TV series Charmed and the cult-classic The Doom Generation. She has also appeared in several major Hollywood films, with leading roles in Scream, Jawbreaker, and the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez double-feature Grindhouse.

McGowan, the second-eldest of six children (plus two half-siblings), was born in Florence, Italy, the daughter of Terri, an American writer of French descent, and Daniel McGowan, an Irish -born artist. Daniel McGowan ran an Italian chapter of the Children of God to which both he and his wife held membership until 1978. McGowan spent her early childhood amid the group's communes, often traveling Europe with her parents. Through her father's art contacts in Italy, McGowan became a child model and appeared in Vogue Bambini and various other Italian magazines. Her parents returned to the United States when she was 10, when they divorced. She subsequently relocated to Oregon and then Gig Harbor, Washington, where she also met childhood friend actor Rey-Phillip Santos. McGowan did not speak English until she moved to the U.S.

McGowan's formative years were spent with her father in Seattle, Washington, attending Roosevelt High School and Nova Alternative High School. At the age of 15, she officially emancipated herself from her parents. McGowan pursued a possible career in the film industry during her late teens, and also enrolled in a beauty school as a back-up.

McGowan made her first appearance in a Hollywood film with a bit role in the 1992 Pauly Shore comedy Encino Man. Her role in the 1995 black comedy The Doom Generation brought her to the attention of film critics, and she received a nomination for "Best Debut Performance" at the 1996 Independent Spirit Awards. McGowan was subsequently cast as Tatum Riley, the best friend of Neve Campbell's character Sidney Prescott, in the 1996 hit horror film Scream.

McGowan spent the majority of the 1990s appearing in a variety of independent films, including roles in Southie, Going All the Way, and Lewis & Clark & George. In 1997, she appeared in the critically acclaimed short Seed, directed by San Francisco-born filmmaker Karin Thayer, and played opposite Peter O'Toole in the 1998 film adaptation of the Dean Koontz novel Phantoms. Notably, McGowan also starred in the 1999 comedy/drama Jawbreaker, where she played a high school student who tries to cover up a classmate's murder. That role earned McGowan a nomination for Best Villain at the 1999 MTV Movie Awards.

Kimberly Alexis Bledel (born September 16, 1981) is an American, Argentinian, and Mexican actress and former fashion model. She is known for her role in the television series Gilmore Girls and for the films Tuck Everlasting, Sin City, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She goes by her first name, "Kimberly", with family and friends, but is known professionally as Alexis Bledel.

Alexis Bledel was born in Houston, Texas. Her father, Martín Bledel, is Argentinian and her mother,Nanette ,is Mexican. She has one younger brother, Eric, born 1986. Her first language is Spanish, and she did not learn English until she began school. In fact, America Ferrera was surprised during an interview with a Spanish magazine when Bledel started speaking Spanish. Bledel's mother encouraged her to try community theater when she was a child to overcome her shyness. She subsequently appeared in local productions of Our Town and The Wizard of Oz before being scouted at a local mall and given work as a fashion model. She attended St. Agnes Academy in Houston and is a Roman Catholic.

Alexis Bledel went to Page Parkes Center for Modeling and Acting and majored in film at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for one year before landing the role of Rory in Gilmore Girls. In 2002, she was voted one of Teen People's "25 Hottest Stars Under 25".

Bledel made her debut on TV on The WB series Gilmore Girls in 2000. She played Lorelai Leigh "Rory" Gilmore, the daughter of single mother Lorelai Victoria Gilmore. Initially, Rory was a high school student living with her mother, but she has since moved on to college at Yale University, where she, among other things, has worked as the editor of the Yale Daily News. There she meets Logan Huntzburger, Matt Czuchry, whom her character dates in the show. Bledel has said that she feels she can relate in some ways to Rory, both when it comes to some personal traits and her relationship to her own parents. She also sees the family structure and mother-daughter relationship on the show as something to which many people can relate.
